The students of The Stevens Conservatory perform their prepared pieces with professional accompanient and fellow students.

Students worked all summer to prepare pieces, geared toward their experience level, to perform on stage, live and in front of their closest friends and family.  These pieces were specifically chosen by Mr. Stevens to stretch the abilities of the student far beyond what they would've done otherwise.  Most selections were jazz standards, while some performed classical pieces from the classical repertoire.  The performing instruments ranged from the alto saxophone, to clairnet, flute, and even trumpet, while the age of performers ranged from the early 20's to 9-years-old!

The accompanists for this year's recital were Mai Kotari of Tulare (classical piano), Michael Porter of Lemoore (jazz piano), Joey Hernandez of Visalia (drums), and Brandon Hall of Hanford (bass).  The experience of rehearsing and performing with these fine professionals surely helped the students to step up their idea of excellence. 

This was no doubt an experience for all to remember.  Besides the smiles full of pride on the faces of all the parents and Mr. Stevens and the excited laughter from the performers as they "brought down the house", the music that was made that evening was truly wonderful!  Please enjoy the tracks below and feel free to share them with others.  They are intended for the students' personal library and are authorized for whatever use they would like--such as a recorded demo, or musical scrapbook.
